Magdalena Konik
I am a photographer, horse guide, tour leader and enthusiast of mountains, nature, horses and culture. I have been living and working in Georgia for over 7 years, which I try to get to know and show from the inside, looking for authentic culture, the relationship of people with nature and culture. I balance between reportage, travel and landscape photography. I publish in the Polish and Georgian strip, but sometimes also further. In the summer I am mainly stationed in the mountains of Tusheti, often combining photography and active time in the mountains with horses. In the remaining time, I cooperate with local tourism departments in the creation of tourist products, horse and hiking trails, and in the aspects of conscious tourism and ecology.
My photos have been awarded in such competitions as Siena International Photography Awards, Malta International Photo Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, Daily Dozen of National Geographic, Amudsen Photo Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards, Newart Photofestival. I was also the winner of the TAPSA photography scholarship as part of the Xposure International Photography Festival in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
I am currently working on a photographic project "Identity" documenting the life and traditions of one of the last authentic cultures in the Caucasus.
