Climate changes - constantly rising temperature, hot summers, and snowless winters as well as decreasing the amount of annual rainfall throughout the country - resulted in the fact that already in spring 2020, the Vistula experienced an exceptionally low water level.

In the spring I was fleeing the city before the impending pandemic, Polish rivers were consumed by their own disease - drought. As it turned out, this phenomenon was quite common in recent years, and in 2020 it came exceptionally quickly.

The hydrological forecasts are not optimistic. According to measurements from April 2020, stations measuring the water level in rivers, out of 500 existing ones, recorded a level below the norm.

For example, in 2019 there were about 10 of them.
